Return Day, the biennial celebration held the Thursday after Election Day where the winners and losers of statewide and Sussex County elections gather to set partisanship aside and “bury the hatchet,” will be held on Nov. 6.

As a result, The Circle in downtown Georgetown will be closed to traffic from about 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 until about 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6.

The closure will and affect through traffic for Del. Routes 9, 404, and 18.

According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, there will also be a brief closure of Arrow Safety Road and West Market Street at Route 113 for the Return Day parade, starting about 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6 and concluding after the parade.

Traffic is expected to be heavy in the early morning hours as parade participants and attendees make their way to The Circle in Georgetown.
