An anonymous tip has led to the arrest of four men, one from Millsboro, allegedly involved in a May 14 burglary at Stone’s Bar on Mechanic Street, said Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.
Police went to the bar and discovered the building was still vacant due to a fire in February, Brode said. Their investigation showed the suspects had forced their way in through a rear door, which was damaged, he said.
The tipster also provided police with the names of possible suspects, including Christopher Schroeder of Millsboro, Richard W. Seymore of Felton, and Brian M. Pogats and Brian M. Melvin of Harrington, Brode said.
Once inside, the burglars stole an undisclosed amount of alcohol, which they later sold, he said.
All four men are charged with second-degree burglary, possession of burglar tools, second-degree conspiracy, theft under $1,500 and criminal mischief under $1,000.
All were committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown in default of secured bond, Brode said.
