Chris Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd and the long list of other performances weren’t the only attention-getters at Big Barrel2015. In a remote corner of the festival was the Pittsburgh-based Barn Yard Petting Zoo, which contained animals such goats, piglets, ponies, and llamas.
Interested fans were able to see the animals for free, only paying for milk and food if they wanted to feed the animals.
Mindy Ivcic, one of the owners of the petting zoo, said organizers for the Big Barrel had asked her to come out. She said was happy to do it.
"Everybody loves the interaction with the animals," she said. "We thought it would be something different to do."
Ivcic’s 10-year-old son Max was also on hand to help is mother out. He was responsible for taking care of the animals and selling some of the merchandise.
