The school, which is part of the Milford School District, has about 420 pre-K and kindergarten students.

The book barns, a barn-shaped bookshelf, was built by Smyrna High School students. Agriculture structures teacher Jay Davis oversaw the project.

More barns are available for donation to Delaware schools with a set of books, including “The Apple Orchard Riddle,” “Seeds, Soil, and Sun,” “Chicks and Chickens” and “How Did That Get in My Lunchbox?”

Educators who would like a book barn may call the Delaware Farm Bureau at 697-3183.
