The 39th annual Point-to-Point Steeplechase will be held at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library east of Hockessin featuring horse races, the carriage parade, elegant tailgating, games for kids, a car show and more.
The 39th annual Point-to-Point Steeplechase will be held at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library, 5105 Kennett Pike (Route 52), Winterthur, east of Hockessin.
Enjoy a festive day of professional horse racing along with elegant tailgating and fun family activities. Kids of all ages will delight in the ever-popular pony rides, stick horse races, Winterthur Hunt and face painting, while canine-friendly activities are offered for the family pup.
Dining is also available trackside with an elegant brunch at the Winterthur Hunt Brunch Hospitality Tent.
General admission wristbands include access to all of the race day activities, free remote parking on Winterthur grounds, and the option to picnic on the Infield hill overlooking the race track and finish line. Please note that general admission wristband holders do not have access to the tailgating areas.
After April 28, general admission wristbands must be purchased by phone at 1-800-448-3883 or 1-302-888-4994 and picked up at the Winterthur Point-to-Point house.
This event benefits the continued maintenance and preservation of the Winterthur Garden and estate.

Canine Capers - Bring your well-behaved dog to romp and play with other pups on the agility and obstacle courses, compete in contests, and have a ball.
Automobile Display - Enjoy Rolls-Royces and Bentleys from the Keystone Region Rolls-Royce Owners’ Club.
11:45 a.m. - Delaware State Police Pipe Band.
Noon - Alison Hershbell Pony Races and Parade of River Hills Foxhounds.
1 p.m. - George A. "Frolic" Weymouth Antique Carriage Parade.
1:30 p.m. - Presentation of the Tailgate Picnic Competition Award and Stick Horse Races for ages 4 and under.
1:50 p.m. - National Anthem sung by Sofi Tyler.
2 p.m. - Isabella du Pont Sharp Memorial Maiden Timber Race with $15,000 purse.
2:15 p.m. - Stick Horse Races for ages 5-7.
2:30 p.m. - Winterthur Bowl sponsored by SCA, Open Timber Race with $25,000 purse.
2:45 p.m. - Stick Horse Races for ages 8-10.
3 p.m. - Vicmead Plate sponsored by National Steeplechase Foundation, Amateur Highweight Timber Race with $15,000 purse.
3:30 p.m. - Middletown Cup Open Flat Race.
3:45 p.m. - Presentation of the Greta Brown Layton Trophy.
4 p.m. - Gates close.
