Milford artist Marcia Reed’s Gallery 37 will be hosting a poetry reading in honor of National Poetry Month at the Music School of Delaware at 10 South Walnut Street on Saturday, April 23, at 3 p.m.

Milford artist Marcia Reed’s Gallery 37 will be hosting a poetry reading in honor of National Poetry Month at the Music School of Delaware at 10 South Walnut Street on Saturday, April 23, at 3 p.m.
The poetry event will be held in conjunction with an opening of work by Wilmington artist Tom Newby that will take place next door at Gallery 37 following the readings that will feature a wine reception to meet the artist and the poets.
The featured poetry readers are Newark’s Lindsey Philomena Warren, Philadelphia’s Russell Susumu Endo and Lincoln’s Linda Blaskey. All three are recipients of fellowship grants from Delaware Division of Arts.
Warren is a recipient of an Emerging Artist Fellowship in poetry from the Delaware Division of the Arts and has had her poetry published in The Fox Chase Review and The Broadkill Review.
Endo has been published in publications including Journal of Biological Chemistry, American Friends Delegation Report on China after Tiananmen, American Poetry Review, Antioch Poetry Review, Cortland Review, Delaware Poetry Review, Ploughshares, Poetry and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Blaskey’s chapbook, “Farm,” won the 2008 Dogfish Head Poetry Prize, the Delaware Press Association’s Communications Contest and placed third nationally in the communications contest held by National Federation of Press Women.
Newby received a 2015 fellowship grant from DDOA in painting. The work on exhibit at Gallery 37 is part of his “Ubiquitous Figures” series. Newby uses acrylic latex paint on wood panels for the series.
