Police stopped a vehicle at around 2:30 a.m. on South Dupont Highway in the area of Porter Street for a traffic violation. Police then smelled alcohol while speaking with Blanchard.
He was given standard field sobriety tests and, after completing them, was taken into custody.
Police also found that Blanchard had smoked marijuana prior to driving. They received a search warrant for a blood draw and took him to Milford Memorial Hospital.
Blanchard is charged with third offense driving under the influence of a combination of alcohol and any drug and failure to remain in a single lane. He was released on $2,550 unsecured bond pending a future court appearance.
