The second annual Coastal Delaware Running Festival, which included full and half marathons and a 9K race, was held April 22 and drew over 22,000 runners.

The festival organizers donated $30,000 to the Delaware Seashore Preservation Foundation, a Friends organization supporting Delaware State Parks.

The funds will go toward the foundation’s general fund and the World War II Fire Control Tower Restoration Project with the Fort Miles Historical Association.

The nonprofit was created to preserve, protect and enhance the Indian River Life Saving Station and the parks within the Delaware Seashore State Park region, including the Indian River Marina, Delaware Seashore, Fenwick Island and Holts Landing State Parks.
