Heroin, crack seized

On Wednesday, Nov. 2, around 4:19 p.m., the Sussex County Drug Unit, with the assistance of the Sussex County Governor’s Task Force, concluded an investigation into illegal drug sales at a residence in the 28000 block of East Diamond Drive, in the Diamond Acres development in Dagsboro.

Police received numerous complaints regarding loitering at the residence and narcotic sales taking place on the cul-de-sac in front of it. Delaware State Police established surveillance of the area and witnessed "hand to hand" drug transactions. 

On Wednesday afternoon, troopers drove into the cul-de-sac to make contact with one of the suspects, who was later identified as 23-year-old Alfred Westcott, Jr., of Frankford. Westcott fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody. A search of his person found a Crown Royal bag containing 245 bags, or 3.18 grams, of heroin and 7.17 grams of crack cocaine.

Three other suspects outside the residence were also taken into custody. 20-year-old Rashawn Davis, of Milford, was found to be in possession of 2.54 grams of crack cocaine. 22-year-old Jerrontae Holden, of Dagsboro, was found to be in possession of 48 bags, or 0.645 grams, of heroin. 36-year-old Walter Brown, of Dagsboro, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a box of .38 caliber ammunition containing 49 rounds.

Wescott was charged with possession with intent to deliver heroin, possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of heroin, possession of crack cocaine, second degree conspiracy, resisting arrest, and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $35,500 secured bond.

Davis was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, tampering with physical evidence, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $14,200 secured bond.

Holden was charged with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, possession of heroin, second degree conspiracy, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $12,250 secured bond.

Brown was charged with possession of ammunition by a person prohibited and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released on $5,200 unsecured bond.
