Gail Bruce, youth services librarian at the Laurel Public Library, met with Nanticoke Health Services staff Oct. 3 to donate 75 Early Literacy gift bags for new parents at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

The gift bags contain a book, early literacy information and other items for new parents, such as hand sanitizer, diaper cream and immunization information.

Once a month, Laurel Public Library’s Teen Ambassador group will meet and pack the gift bags. This group is made up of teen volunteers who are active in programs and activities both at the library and in the community. Reflecting their service to the community, the group was recognized in 2014 by the Governor's Youth Volunteer Service Award.

Nanticoke thanked the Laurel Public Library and their Teen Ambassador group for the support of Nanticoke’s mission impact the community.
