The Rehoboth Art League has awarded artist Marilyn Feldman the commission to paint the seven homes on the 2017 Cottage Tour of Art to be held in July.

Feldman studied art at the Corcoran Gallery School of Art and at George Washington University, in Washington, D.C. At GWU, she earned a degree in journalism and graphic art and was named to Phi Beta Kappa.

Feldman is a member of Potomac Valley Watercolorists and a more recent member of Rehoboth Art League. Her paintings have been shown at juried exhibitions, including the Maryland Federation of Art, Art on Paper show in Annapolis; Baltimore Watercolor Society, Mid-Atlantic Regional Watercolor Exhibition, Baltimore; Strathmore Art Center, Rockville, Maryland; and the Art Barn in Washington, D.C.

The 68th Annual Cottage Tour of Art will be held on 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 11 and 12. Feldman will create a pastel of each of the six private homes, as well as the Art League’s historic Peter Marsh Homestead. Images of Feldman’s works will be used in the tour program, and her original pastels will be awarded to the homeowners during a June reception. Feldman’s rendition of the Homestead will be accessioned into the art league’s esteemed Permanent Collection of artwork.

Cottage Tour tickets are $35 per person and are available for purchase at rehobothartleague.org or by calling 227-8408. The tour is appropriate for ages 13 and older.
