Delmarva Christian High School was presented two certificates of excellence awards from Georgetown Mayor Bill West on behalf of the Jefferson Awards Foundation Lead360 Challenge for service to the community.

The celebratory event recognized two projects initiated by Delmarva Christian to include the schoolwide Return to the Community Day held in November and the Christmas For Soldiers collection drive for Home of the Brave veterans in December.

Lead360 is a program offered by the Jefferson Award Foundation that helps empower the youth and their service ideas and acknowledges community service projects. Launched in 2010, this program has recognized more than 6,900 Delaware youth in 578 service projects in collaboration with the offices of seven mayors, including Dover, Georgetown, Lewes, Milford, Newark, Seaford and Wilmington.

Other organizations receiving awards along with DCHS included Gillian McDerment and individuals from the Jefferson School. The collective impact of this year’s Delaware projects had a financial value of more than $49,000 and impacted 7,400 lives.
