Shoppers at Tanger Outlets contributed $37,650 to Tanger’s Pink Card campaign in October, and the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition recently received the funds at a presentation ceremony.

The money was raised throughout October as part of the 24th annual Tanger Pink Campaign. Shoppers who purchased a Pink card for $10 could save 25 percent in participating stores.

Headquartered in Wilmington with offices in Sussex and Kent counties, the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition’s programs reach diverse communities to deliver messages that address their unique concerns about breast cancer and early detection. Recognizing the barriers of language, culture and economics, DBCC trains community advocates to educate and encourage women to take responsibility for breast health. DBCC helps women with low incomes and those with little or no insurance to receive free or reduced-cost care.

Through fundraising efforts in fiscal 2017, DBCC served nearly 4,000 women and men in Delaware, provided more than 1,000 mammograms through the Women’s Mobile Health Screening program and served more than 150 newly diagnosed breast cancer patients.
