A local student recently donated to pediatric patients at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.
Priscilla Snell, a student at Sussex Central High School, was assigned a class project. Snell is involved in the Young People’s Division at Dickerson Chapel AME Church in Millsboro and called upon the parishioners to help make her goal of helping kids come to fruition. With Snell at the helm, the group collected and wrapped presents for children. In 2016, they brought one box of toys, and Snell said her goal for 2017 was to collect three boxes of toys.
On Dec. 21, Snell arrived with three boxes of toys to present to pediatric patients at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. Donated toys help make every child’s visit to Nanticoke a bit more comforting. For many children, especially those who are too young to understand why they have to stay in the hospital, receiving a toy provides both comfort and distraction from their illness.
