Some fun First State events to dive into this weekend

1. A jam-band of gypsies

Bond & Bentley know how to funk it up, but in a good way.

The quartet from Baltimore, Md., has the ability to dabble in many genres as they spin the listener through different ebbs and flows of soul, funk and blues.

More recently, the gang has shifted into a jam band. The group’s latest effort is “Complicated,” an EP of funk, soul and jam.

A crew of musical gypsies, the boys have tirelessly averaged over 175 shows annually since 2009 in a nationwide effort to unite fans from Florida to Canada, Maryland to California, the Caribbean and beyond.

Their resume includes sharing the stage with big names like Matt & Kim, Citizen Cope, G. Love, Robert Randolph and The Family Band, Cake, Fitz and the Tantrums and more.

Bond & Bentley will put their skills on display at 10 p.m., Friday. Admission is free.
