The Whayland Co., with headquarters in Laurel and clients throughout Sussex County and the eastern shore of Maryland, announced the addition of Executive Assistant Sonya Hicks to its southern Delaware management team.

Tasked with assisting office staff with various special and daily tasks, this is the second time Hicks was hired by Whayland President Steve Hentschel to work in the firm’s Laurel headquarters.

Whayland’s new executive assistant lives in the Salisbury area and began her second stint with the company at the end of February.

A 2010 graduate of James M. Bennett High School in Salisbury, Hicks left Whayland to take a job in her hometown in June of 2017.

In her new role, Hicks will support clubhouse projects at southern Delaware residential communities, both from the office and on the actual job sites, working with employees and contractors and ensure that everything is being completed in compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards.
