The Delaware Department of Transportation announced to motorists that Delmarva Central Railroad Co. will be replacing, repaving and performing general maintenance on their railroad crossings in Sussex County, requiring lane closures throughout the county.
Message boards will be posted in advance of the closure and detour routes will also be posted.
Zoar Road, between Woods Branch Road and Cedar Lane, Georgetown, will be closed from 5 a.m. April 16 to 11:59 p.m. April 18. Eastbound detour route is Zoar Road onto Woods Branch Road to Sussex Pines Road to Cedar Lane and return to Zoar Road. Westbound detour route is from Zoar Road to Cedar Lane to Sussex Pines Road onto Woods Branch Road and back to Zoar Road.
Greenly Avenue, between North Old State Road and Front Street, Lincoln, will be closed from 5 a.m. April 16 until 11:59 p.m. April 19.
Eastbound detour route is from Greenly Avenue to North Old State Road to Johnson Road onto Front Street and return to Greenly Avenue. Westbound detour route is Greenly Avenue to Front Street onto Johnson Road to North Old State Road and back to Greenly Avenue.
Saint George Road, between Dickerson Road and Bi-State Boulevard, Laurel, will be closed from 5 a.m. April 18 until 11:59 p.m. April 20.
Detour routes are from Saint George Road to Bacons Road onto Bi-State Boulevard and return to Saint George Road; and from Saint George Road to Bi-State Boulevard to Bacons Road and back to Saint George Road.
The road closures are scheduled to begin these dates, but could be delayed due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
