Sussex County Habitat for Humanity and the city of Seaford will host the third Rock the Block on North Conwell and neighboring streets beginning at 8:30 a.m. April 21.

Neighborhood residents and local business and community volunteers will clean yards, pick up trash, clean gutters, power wash homes, landscape, paint and address minor repairs. Sussex Habitat will provide a dumpster to collect yard debris. Volunteer registration will begin at 8:30 a.m. at Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, 315 High St., Seaford.

The North Conwell Street Rock the Block is part of Sussex Habitat’s Neighborhood Revitalization initiative that includes neighborhood clean-up days, home repairs for those in need, house rehab projects, new home construction and financial empowerment workshops. A central goal of Neighborhood Revitalization is to improve the quality of life for current and future residents of Seaford. In May, Sussex Habitat volunteers from Seaford and other communities will begin construction on two new Habitat homes on North Conwell Street.

The April 21 Rock the Block event is held on Global Youth Service Weekend. Sussex County Habitat encourages younger residents and their families to get involved.
