The Lewes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau will sponsor its 28th annual Lewes Garden Tour from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 16.
There are eight private gardens on the tour this year. Tickets will be available for sale May 25 and will include a description of each garden. The gardens are selected by the event committee chair with assistance from other members of the committee. This year’s chair is Linda Davison who is serving in her third year as head of the committee.
In addition to touring the gardens, the event includes a Garden Market where more than 30 vendors are located, selling garden related items during the hours of the tour. A number of the members of the Cape Artists and chamber member Libby Zando, owner of Zando Designs — Homes & Gardens, will be in the tour gardens painting. Tour-goers can enjoy beverages and lunch provided by Full Belly Bistro in the refreshment tent in Zwaanendael Park.
During the hours of the tour, free shuttle service is available for ticket holders. Lewes Senior Center, Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant, Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Gallo Realty and the Jolly Trolley will provide the shuttle services.
Tickets for the tour of gardens on Saturday are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tour, and will be available at the Lewes Chamber of Commerce visitor center in the Fisher-Martin House, located in Zwaanendael Park next to the Zwaanendael Museum, 102 Kings Highway, Lewes.
