The Sussex County Technical Rescue Team will conduct a structural collapse rescue exercise at 8 a.m. May 26 within unoccupied homes in the 300 block of Monroe Avenue, Lewes.

The Sussex County Technical Rescue Team is made up of firefighters and public safety members throughout Sussex County. The team conducts rescue services in high- and low-angle rope climbing, confined space, trench, swift water, structural collapse and large animal rescues.

This will be the first of two training exercises, with the second taking place later in the year involving structural burn rescue training.

The homes are owned and donated for these training exercises by local real estate developers Bill and Bryce Lingo, and the homes are located adjacent to the new Showfield community, Lewes.
