The Milton Historical Society announced its 2018 King Cole Cannery Celebrity Chef Cook-Off is set for 5:30 8 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Milton Fire Hall, 116 Front St.

Chefs will prepare culinary creations featuring vegetables and fruits that would have been canned at the former King Cole Cannery located in Milton, as well as chicken or beef from area producers Allen Harim and The Butcher Block. Guests will enjoy sampling the creations of our celebrity chefs and then vote to determine the winner of the “People’s Choice” award. Celebrity judges will also be on hand to determine the “Critic’s Choice.” The evening will also include music, the King Cole Celebrity Raffle and a cash bar. Tickets are $45 general admission and at the door; Milton Historical Society members pay $35 for tickets purchased before Sept. 21.

A highlight is the chance to win one of the King Cole Celebrity Raffle Baskets. Raffle baskets are themed and offer items to capture a variety of tastes and interests. Lavender Fields at Warrington Manor, 302 Fitness, Dogfish Head Craft Brewery and Wilmington attractions including the Delaware Theatre Co. and Hagley Museum will have baskets up for raffle. Baskets are valued at more than $150. Raffle tickets cost $10 each or eight for $50 and may be purchased in advance or at the event. Winners do not need to be present to win but must be available to pick up their prize from the Milton Historical Society by Oct. 4.
