Isaac Pierce was captured Sept. 20


Dover police are reporting the capture of rape suspect Isaac Pierce.

Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said Pierce was captured Thursday, Sept. 20 by the United States Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force and the First State Fugitive Task Force.

Pierce was found living out of his vehicle on a Princess Anne's County farm, Hoffman said.

He remains in custody in Maryland until completion of an extradition hearing.


Dover police are looking for a local man on suspicion of rape.

The incident took place between 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, Hoffman said.

Police have determined Pierce was with the unnamed woman when she stopped in the area of the Delaware Technical Community College basketball courts. There, he assaulted her and eventually forced her to drive to a parking lot in the 600 block of Ridgely Street, where he forced her to engage in sexual acts, then strangled and threatened the woman.

Dover police are not disclosing woman’s condition nor where she is being treated, Hoffman said. The two knew each other, but their relationship is not being disclosed in order to protect her identity.

Hoffman said Pierce is known to live in the Dover area, but may also have fled to Maryland.

Pierce is wanted on two counts of first-degree rape as well as second-degree kidnapping, strangulation, second-degree assault, and terroristic threatening.
