The Delaware Department of Natural Resources of Environmental Control’s Division of Parks & Recreation will host the fourth annual Boo-B-Que By the Sea, a two-day barbeque cook-off competition and family festival beginning at 6 p.m. Oct. 19 and continuing Oct. 20 at Delaware Seashore State Park, 25039 Coastal Highway, Rehoboth Beach.
The Boo-B-Que is a three-part festival — a professional barbeque competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, a local barbecue pork competition hosted by La Vida Hospitality and family activities.
Proceeds benefit the Delaware Children in Nature Endowment Fund, which affords opportunities for young people to participate in outdoor experiences.
From 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 19, join the Kansas City Barbeque Competitors for trick-or-treating, a kids’ costume contest and an opportunity for visitors to sample and select the people’s choice award winners for chicken wings. Craft beers will also be available on tap for adults.
A professional and amateur barbeque competition will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. Oct. 20. Twenty amateur and professional barbecue cooks will cook and serve their best pulled pork recipes. Kids’ activities, live music by Sweet Leda and food from area vendors will also be included.
