New infrastructure improvements are coming to Second Street in Rehoboth Beach.

The Second Street Improvement Project includes the replacement of the sidewalk and curb ramps on the east side of Second Street between Baltimore and Maryland avenues.

The city’s project, supported by a $100,000 Community Transportation Fund grant, has been a priority. The new sidewalk and curb ramps will improve safety for all users. New sidewalk construction will begin at the end of October.

During construction activity, lane closures and limited parking and access will occur. The contractor, Clean Cut Pavers, will make every effort to minimize inconvenience during the construction period. The actual construction period should be about 60 days.

The work will occur between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
