Craig A. Karsnitz was publicly sworn in for his first term as a judge of the Superior Court of Delaware on Nov. 30 in Courtroom 1 at the Sussex County Courthouse in Georgetown.
Karsnitz fills a vacancy created by T. Henley Graves, who retired in April.
Superior Court President Judge Jan R. Jurden welcomed the audience to the investiture and administered the oath of office as Karsnitz’ children, Ross C. Karsnitz and Tristan J. Karsnitz, held the Bible. Karsnitz’ wife, Kathi, assisted with the robing. Following the oath of office, Neilli Walsh, partner at Young, Conaway, Stargatt & Taylor and l friend of Karsnitz; and Gary F. Traynor, justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware, offered remarks. Resident Judge Richard F. Stokes presided.
Prior to being nominated to the Superior Court, Karsnitz was a partner with Young, Conaway, Stargatt & Taylor for 40 years.
A graduate of Villanova University School of Law, Karsnitz received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Delaware.
