Physicians at Atlantic General Hospital’s John H. “Jack” Burbage, Jr. Regional Cancer Care Center will hold a free screening event for men at increased risk for prostate cancer from 5 to 7 p.m. April 24 at the center, 9707 Healthway Drive, Berlin, Maryland.

Radiation oncologist Manoj Jain and urologist James Cherry will be on-hand to provide education and conduct digital rectal exams; blood draws will be available to test prostate-specific antigen levels or PSA. PSA is a substance produced by the prostate gland. Increased amounts of PSA may indicate prostate cancer or other prostate diseases.

Men older than 50, those with a family history of the disease and African American men are at increased risk of developing prostate cancer.

Pre-registration is required to 410-629-6288.
