The Milton Theatre, 110 Union St., will present Serafin Ensemble in concert at 7:30 p.m. May 19, featurings performances by East Coast artists Kate Ransom, of Wilmington, Amos Fayette, of Milford, Luke Fleming, of New York City, and Charae Krueger, of Atlanta.

Serafin Ensemble, “The Serafins,” is a group of performing artists — string, wind, piano and vocalists — devoted to collaborative chamber music performances of repertoire for up to eight players. The ensemble evolved from the former Serafin String Quartet and continues the nearly two-decade-long Serafin commitment to presenting performances of small-ensemble repertoire.

The various program selections show off the character and capabilities of each instrument and artist, with colorful, short solo works for violin, viola and cello. These are contrasted by works for duo combinations of violin and viola, and two violins. For the finale, the artists will perform a work by Beethoven, in which all four players collaborate in a string quartet from the composer's first stylistic period.

Tickets are $17 to $22, available at bit.ly/2sT1gdb.
