Nanticoke Health Services announced that David Martin Stumbo was named Employee of the Month for April.

Stumbo started his career at Nanticoke Health Services in April 2011 as a temporary health information management clerk in the Medical Records Department. He helped organize teams to transport thousands of medical records from the hospital to the Leader Building. At the end of the project in June 2011, a health information clerk position became available, and Stumbo started as a full-time employee. Because of his hard work and dedication, he has worked his way up to his current position as a HIM analyst IV.

Stumbo is known for his customer service while helping patients with their Patient Portal questions and medical record requests. He is always willing to lend a hand and frequently volunteers to change shifts as needed to benefit the department. Stumbo is always open to new ideas and eager to learn new skills. He excels at mentoring others and is always willing to share his knowledge and experience.

Outside of work, Stumbo volunteers and trains to protect the community during disasters. Stumbo serves on the board of governors for the Laurel Voluntary Fire Auxiliary and volunteers each month helping with fundraisers, preparing food and interviewing and mentoring new volunteers. For the past 15 years, Stumbo has been an FCC-licensed member of the Nanticoke Amateur Radio Club. After hurricanes Irene and Sandy in 2011 and 2012, he helped coordinate disaster recovery efforts. Stumbo also works with his mother to raise funds for breast cancer awareness and to bring food donations to the Seaford Homeless Shelter. He actively participates in fundraising events sponsored by Nanticoke.
