Incident occurred on Hurley Park Drive

A fire that heavily damaged a Seaford home on May 1 has been determined by the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office to have been intentionally started.

The Seaford Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 800 block of Hurley Park Drive shortly before 8 p.m. and found an active fire inside the dwelling. Shortly thereafter a second fire was reported in the 400 block of North Arch Street, but the two fires do not appear to be related.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal's office has determined the Hurley Park Drive Fire was started by a person or persons igniting items inside the unoccupied home. Damage was estimated at $250,000. There were no reported injuries.

State fire investigators are asking for the public’s help in providing information pertaining to this fire or home surveillance footage showing individuals in the area at the time of the fire.
