Jim Apple of the Talbot Fair Plays will speak about old-time game baseball at 6 p.m. July 16 at the Heritage Museums and Gardens of Dorchester, 1003 Greenway Drive, Cambridge, Maryland.
The Talbot Fair Plays formed in 2006, more than 140 years after the original Fair Play Base Ball Club began play in Talbot County. The vintage club plays according to the rules of 1864.
The club is part of the Mid Atlantic League, which includes about 30 club nines extending from Providence, Rhode Island, to Lewes.
Prior to the discussion, visitors can enjoy hot dogs and soda pop in observance of National Hot Dog Day, beginning at 5 p.m.
The event is free, although donations are encouraged.
