Car stolen from second block of Rehoboth Avenue
A suspected car thief has been identified and arrested.
On Monday, the Rehoboth Beach Police Department requested the public's assistance in identifying a man suspected of stealing a vehicle on Saturday, Oct. 5, from the second block of Rehoboth Avenue. The vehicle was recovered that same day in the parking lot of the Rehoboth Avenue Royal Farms.
The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Ellery L. Parker III, of Georgetown. According to police, he had somehow obtained the keys to the 2018 Ford F350, owned by a 42-year-old Michigan man. The truck and its contents were valued at $80,000.
Parker was arrested on Wednesday evening and charged with felony theft of a motor vehicle. He was later released on $2,000 unsecured bail.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department expressed thanks to the community for helping identify him.

The incident, a felony theft, occurred between 3 and 5 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, on the second block of Rehoboth Avenue. The stolen vehicle has since been recovered and the above image was obtained from surveillance video.
No further details are being released at this time to preserve the integrity of the investigation.
