Each candidate was asked to respond to three questions.
1. What are the top issues you will address in your campaign and what are your plans for moving those issues forward?Education - If the children are our future, we have to invest in educating them. Education today is more complex than it was thirty years ago. Students are coming to school with more needs; social, emotional… and more is required of school system, particularly, teachers to help meet those needs. We cannot ignore these needs and expect learning to occur. We must do what it takes to make sure our students are ready for success in their future.... I will work to ensure resources are made available to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for our students. I support our educators and students.
Be a voice: I stand to serve and help provide a voice and support for members of our community.
Continue advocacy for health care for eligible children and seniors
Support working families
Support for programs and initiatives that make living in the 34th district, Kent County and the State of Delaware the place to be.
I will constantly seek feedback from the community on issues of concern to them and be their voice at Legislative Hall, with solutions.
Work with State leaders in managing demands for serving our citizens along with balancing the fiscal costs to meet to demands. I have worked in government finance for most of my 25 years, I will propose and support ideas that will maintain fiscal balance.
2. What makes you uniquely qualified for the political office you seek?
Over the course of 25 years, I have worked in various agencies in State government. I worked in the Dept. of Health and Social Services, Dept. of Natural Resources and Environmental Control and the Dept. of Education. With the experience gained from those departments, I have a greater understanding of how regulations and laws affect our citizens and the State employees that have to implement them. This would allow me to contribute and support ideas, laws and regulations that will be of benefit to our citizens.
3. What community groups are you involved with and in what capacity?
I have been a member of Victory Christian Fellowship in Dover for 27 years and been the church administrator since 2003.
