Democrat for 28th District Representative

Each candidate was asked to respond to three questions.

1.  What are the top issues you will address in your campaign and what are your plans for moving those issues forward?

Serving the residents of the 28th Representative District is my passion, and I would be honored to continue to represent your voices and values in the General Assembly. A major focus of my campaign continues to be advocacy for seniors, veterans and first responders. With Delaware’s growing aging population, we need to be responsive to the needs of seniors from health care to infrastructure concerns.

I will continue to listen and support programs, such as Meals on Wheels, that serve our vulnerable populations, like seniors on fixed incomes.

Additionally, as a veteran and former fire chief, I know the critical role our military men and women and first responders have in keeping our communities safe. They sacrifice and risk their lives every day to make sure that we are protected. We should honor their service and always look to how we can improve their quality of life and bolster programs that support their needs.

2.  What makes you uniquely qualified for the political office you seek?

As a lifelong member of the 28 th District, I know the issues that impact my community and how we can make this area thrive. The 28th District is vibrant, and I will continue to advocate for my residents and their quality of life. My deep community ties keep me in tune with the concerns of my district, listening to their challenges and successes. Above all, I have been committed to working for my constituents yesterday, today and tomorrow. If elected, I will continue that work and be your strong voice in the General Assembly.

3.  What community groups are you involved with and in what capacity?

I am a veteran of the Delaware Air National Guard and an Honorary Commander of the Dover Air Force Base and Honorary Major of the Civil Air Patrol; member of the American Legion Post No. 14 (where I previously served on the Board of Directors); a member of the American Legion 40/8, the Delaware Veterans Post No. 2 and the Delaware Veterans Coalition; a charter member of the Smyrna-Clayton Moose Lodge; past master of the Harmony Lodge No. 13 AF and AM; a life member, past president and past chief of the Smyrna Fire Company (where I also previously served on the Board of Directors and the Board of Trustees); a life member of the Clayton Fire Company; a life member emeritus of the Smyrna- Clayton Little League (for which I previously served as a coach for 22 years and on the Board of Directors); a member of the Board of Directors of the Mamie A.
