This week Sussex Central (5-1, 2-1) host the impressive Polytech Panthers (5-1, 2-0), Sussex Tech (3-3, 1-2) battles with Caesar Rodney (3-3, 1-2), Cape Henlopen (2-4, 0-3) travels to Milford (4-2, 4-1) and Indian River (1-5, 0-3) travels to Laurel (2-4, 0-2).

Cape Henlopen @ Milford 7 p.m. 

 

Since dropping two of their first three games this season, the Milford Buccaneers have won three straight heading into Friday night’s home contest against Cape Henlopen. Last week, the Bucs upset Woodbridge, 20-6 in front of a raucous homecoming crowd. They sit at 4-2 overall and 4-1 against the Henlopen Conference. Cape Henlopen has struggled this season, sitting at 2-4 overall and 0-3 against the conference after suffering their third straight defeat last week, 27-6 against Caesar Rodney.

Sussex Central v. Polytech 7 p.m. 

At the beginning of the season, few had this week’s matchup between Sussex Central and Polytech circled on their calendars. However, both teams enter the game at 5-1 overall, with Central holding a 2-1 mark against the conference, while Polytech is still undefeated at 2-0 against the Henlopen. The Golden Knights are coming off their first loss of the season, falling to Smyrna, 46-13, after winning their first five games. They’ll look to bounce against Polytech who have won five straight games after dropping their opener to A.I. duPont. The Panthers are coming off a 21-7 homecoming win over Laurel last week.

Sussex Tech v. Caesar Rodney 7 p.m. 

After a slow start, dropping their first two games of the season, the Sussex Tech Ravens have won three of their last four games, including a 36-21 win over Dover last week. They’ll look to improve their conference record to 2-2 when they host Caesar Rodney for their homecoming game Friday night. The Riders snapped a losing streak with a 27-6 win over Cape Henlopen last week. CR sits at 3-3 overall and 1-2 against the conference.

Laurel v. Indian River 1 p.m. 

Indian River looks to break a five game losing streak and spoil Laurel’s homecoming game when they matchup against the Bulldogs Saturday afternoon. Since winning their opener against Glasgow the Indians have dropped their last five games to Polytech, St. Mark’s, Delmar, Lake Forest and Seaford last week.
