Top players to compete Dec. 27-29.

The Slam Dunk to the Beach showcase next week at Cape Henlopen High School will feature 19 basketball games over three days, starting Dec. 27.

The 20-team tournament brings together top schools from Delaware and top-flight schools from around the country, including three teams ranked among MaxPreps Preseason Top.

The Howard Wildcats, Caravel Academy Buccaneers and state champion Smyrna Eagles join the Vikings as Delaware contenders. All were tournament teams a season ago, with Smyrna and Caravel fighting it out for the title.

Schools from California, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont and Washington D.C. are making the trip to compete, bringing elite players.

Slam Dunk to the Beach is no stranger to showcasing top-level talent, like Carmelo Anthony and LeBron James. This year’s tournament is filled with talent, including Simisola Shittu, committed to Vermont, LSU commit Nazreon Reid and Cameron Reddish, who is headed to Duke.
