The nine-time defending DIAA Girls Lacrosse State Champion Cape Henlopen Lady Vikings will have a chance to make it 10 titles in a row after advancing to the 2018 state championship game Wednesday night.

The No. 1 seeded Lady Vikings cruised past No. 4 Archmere Academy, 19-4, in the quarterfinals to punch their ticket to the state title game.

Cape took control early, scoring 11 first half goals to take a nine goal lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Lady Vikings outscored the Lady Auks 8-2 to win going away.

By the final horn, 10 different Cape Henlopen players found the back of the net in the 15-goal victory. Lindsay Monigle led the way scoring a team-high four goals, while Mallory Jones and Alia Marshall both had three goals apiece in the win.

The Lady Vikings will matchup against No. 2 St. Mark’s in the finals on Tuesday.

The Lady Spartans advanced to the finals thanks to a hard fought 15-13 win over No. 3 Ursuline Academy on Wednesday.
