No. 3 Sussex Central defeated No. 6 Appoquinimink, 36-7, on Friday night, to advance to the Division I DIAA Football Semifinals.

The Golden Knights dominated from the opening kick-off and never looked back, scoring the game’s first 36 points to roll over the Jags.

Shiheim Williams opened the scoring with an 18-yard touchdown run to put Central up early, 7-0.  Later in the first quarter, Zion Reed intercepted a Appo pass and took it 22-yards to the house and the Golden Knights were up 14-0 in a blink of an eye.

Still leading 14-0, Phil Stratton broke off a 51-yard touchdown on the ground, giving Central a 22-0 advantage at the halftime break.

Later in the third, Sussex Central quarterback Isaac Barnes found Javon Toppin on a 19-yard score, leading 29-0 after three quarters.

Central would add another score in the fourth, a Kasim Lewis 48-yard rushing score before a late Jaguars score.
