Road rage leads to stabbing in Laurel, police say

Eric Bailey

Delaware State Police arrested a Laurel man after what they called "a road rage incident."

Around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 4, troopers responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle and a fight at Tracy Circle and Hastings Drive in Laurel.

Police said 45-year-old Eric Bailey and a 31-year-old Salisbury, Maryland man were separately driving when they both exited their vehicles out and began to fight. Bailey stabbed the victim with a knife in his lower extremity, according to police. The victim and a passenger not involved in the incident then left and went to a hospital.

Bailey went to Troop 5 and was charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $40,000 secured bond.
