Chicken house fire in Delmar

A vacant chicken house burned down in Delmar.

The fire, reported shortly after 07 a.m. on Friday, March 6, occurred in the 8000 block of Delmar Road. The Delmar Fire Department arrived on the scene and found smoke and flames coming from the structure. Mutual aid fire companies assisted at the scene. There were no reported injuries.

State fire investigators concluded that the fire was accidental, caused by an electrical malfunction on the interior of the structure.

Fire damage was estimated at $5,000.
