Lewes Summer Concert Series to begin June 23 in Stango Park
The city of Lewes has announced the Lewes Summer Concert Series lineup for 2020 in Stango Park with some modifications for social distancing.
The first concert is set for 7 p.m. June 23 with the Delaware 287th Army Band. Concerts will start at 7 p.m. and will be located outdoors in Stango Park. There is no indoor rain location at this time due to COVID-19 restrictions and limitations. If inclement weather is in the forecast, concerts will be canceled and notifications will be sent out by email blast and posted on Facebook at facebook.com/lewesdeparks.
The 2020 lineup includes Christopher Dean Band, June 30; Milford Community Band, July 7; Cocktails at 3, July 14; Reel Ting, July 21; The Funsters, July 28; British Invasion Experience, Aug. 4; Brothers Stonesifer, Aug. 11; Vinyl Shockley, Aug. 18; and U.S. Navy Band Cruisers, Aug. 25.
Other modifications for the concert series include the phase-one plan for outdoor gatherings by the governor, which include a limit of 250 attendees, 6-feet separation between family groups and wearing face coverings/masks. The city will have two portable toilets at the concert venue for concert patrons only and hand sanitizer will be provided.
Concerts are free, and attendees can bring chairs, blankets and snacks. The 2020 summer concert series lineup is sponsored by the city of Lewes, WSFS Bank and by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
