Lewes robbery suspect arrested
Delaware State Police have arrested a Milton woman that was wanted on a robbery charge.
At around 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 13, troopers responded to Weis grocery store, at 17232 North Village Main Boulevard in Lewes, for a report of a robbery. According to police, 26-year-old Erika A. Morris followed a 65-year-old man out of the store and stole his wallet out of his hands after a brief struggle. The victim sustained minor injuries that did not require treatment.
At around noon on Tuesday, June 16, police were dispatched to the 28000 block of West Springside Drive, in the Cool Spring Farms Community of Milton. They had received an anonymous tip advising Morris was at a residence there. Morris was found standing outside on the front porch of the residence and taken into custody without incident.
Morris was found to be in possession of about two grams of marijuana, 11 pills she did not have a prescription for and drug paraphernalia. She also had active warrants out of Troops 4 and 7.
She was charged with second-degree robbery, theft under $1,500, four counts of unlawful use of a payment card, third-degree conspiracy, shoplifting, theft under $1,500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older, second-degree conspiracy, possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. She was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $13,000 secure bond.
